A few days before Christmas, some friends and I decided to spend the few dollars we had left on a movie. We were torn between Avatar and The Princess and the Frog. We chose the latter because, as true-blue children of the Disney Renaissance of the early '90s, we had been excited about this particular film for some time. We figured that Avatar will be around for awhile, given all of it's hype.

It's no secret that I have issues with the Twilight series. Not because I really begrudge it at all. To be totally honest, I'm mostly indifferent with the material itself; it's the fact that it has seemingly similar aspects to Companions of the Night, an all-time favorite book of mine that I would like adapt into a film someday. Companions of the Night was published in 1995, a full ten years before Twilight, and yet now, ...

From months without film/video involvement of any kind, to a weekend chalk-full of it, followed by a relatively busy shift at the day job. . . wow!
To recap: I attended the D.C. Filmmakers' Meet-Up on Thursday of last week (10/1). I met quite...

I think I may have found myself a farm for the short film I'm planning, "The Stranger."
I went "location scouting" last weekend and actually had some very good luck. There are a few people who live near me (and by near I meanwithin 20 minutes of driving from my house) who live on working farms. I had been interested in going...

First and foremost, I caught the sneak peak at the pilot for the new FOX show, "Glee" this week. I was actually pretty impressed. By themusic, if nothing else. I particularly admired the use of the a Capella vocals performing the classical pieces and musical score; i.e. Beethoven's Fifth Symphony, the Austin Powers the...

I am now the Co-Founder and Creative Director of the future Vertigo Spark Entertainment, a small production company myself and a friend of mine have officially started.
We still have a long way to go before we will be up and running, but it's a start. We've picked our name, which, surprisingly, we struggled with (as far as picking between two potential titles).

I thought I'd share my experience of the "Second Street" shoot.
We left Owings Mills at 3:30pm, and arrived in OC about 6:45-ish. We
had dinner and then went over to the actual shooting location around
7:30pm. It was raining and it was cold. My feet and shoes were soaked
through within ten minutes and remained so until I got home the next day.
Still,
we tried to get things se...

I've become employed as a waitress, and having an income + tips is a
relief. I'm trying to save as best I can; I really want to be sure I
have the money I'll need come June for the loans I'll have to start
paying back. So far, so good.
In other news, I've still got creative projects and other film/video-related employment on the horizions. Such as...
