First and foremost, I caught the sneak peak at the pilot for the new FOX show, "Glee" this week. I was actually pretty impressed. By themusic, if nothing else. As an ex-chorus-girl myself, it was very easy to step into that world and appreciate the harmonies and new takes on the songs. I particularly admired the use of the a Capella vocals performing the classical pieces and musical score; i.e. Beethoven's Fifth Symphony, the Austin Powers theme and Moonlight Sonata, among others. I thought it was a very nice touch. I'm also a huge fan of Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'," so I couldn't help but be jazzed for their rendition. I look forward to the series airing in the fall to see where they go from here, from the pilot.
If you're interested, the pilot is available to watch here.
On a different note, the few of us who make up Vertigo Spark Entertainment have put the House of Cards project on hold for the moment; we've decided to go with
a few smaller projects first. For example, a music video or two - very
simple, conceptually - for musician Flo Anito, based in Washington D.C.,
as well as a short film, The Stranger, the script for which is in My Gallery on Deviant Art, based on the children's book by Chris Van Allsburg. Lots of planning left to do for both, but it's the creative motivation that's keeping me going!
My website's gone through some series design changes these past few days. I think I'm pretty pleased with this latest design. I imagine I'll hold onto it for awhile.
